With the warm, sunny weather, we head into summer and our Saturday morning group will be meeting as usual, for queer summer vibes. If you would like to meet an LGBT+ focused group for friendly morning discussions and socialising then please feel free to come along. Everyone’s welcome.

So what is Spill the Tea?
Spill the Tea is a relaxed gathering of LGBT+ community members and allies that meets most Saturday mornings. Each week offers a new opportunity for a variety of activities, from coffee and chatting, to all sorts of crafting, to visits to local places of interest. It is a chance to interact in an open, friendly atmosphere, and spend some time being fully ourselves.

There is a change from the original schedule for this week’s Spill the Tea, so this week we will be having a discussion about the EHRC consultation on their guidance and response to the recent Supreme Court ruling. This is a serious topic, and so the discussion will possibly be quite heavy and distressing. As always, you do not need to contribute anything that you do not want to. Everyone’s welcome.

This week our Saturday morning group are going On Tour. We are going to Stockport Zine and Print Fair, a celebration of zine and print culture. A zine is a self published magazine or pamphlet that can be on a huge variety of subjects. It gives an opportunity for people to easily share their thoughts and ideas and express themselves. Please join us on Saturday 14th June from 10:30am at the Coffee House, located in the Merseyway Shopping Centre, in the centre of Stockport, opposite Primark. We will gather here, have a quick brew, before heading at 11am to the Stockroom, located further down the shopping centre, besides WHSmith.

This week our Saturday morning group will be starting off Pride month with a general discussion. This will be a more open and relaxed discussion where we can chat and have a general catch-up.

As this is the first Spill the Tea since Stockport Pride, there is opportunity to also chat about Stockport Pride. If you would like to come and share your stories from this year’s Stockport Pride, or you would like to know more about what Stockport Pride was like, there will be the chance to chat to people about their experiences. There is no pressure to share or contribute anything that you do not want to. Everyone’s welcome.

For the rest of May, Spill the Tea will be focusing our crafting weekends upon Badge Making and Cross Stitch. Please come along if you would like to try making some pride badges or pride flag cross stitch. This is in the build up to Stockport Pride, which is on 1st June 2025.
